UK Feminista, founded in 2010, is an NGO which promotes and supports feminist activism in the UK. The group supports people to take action in three ways:

  • Offering resources and training on how to campaign for change
  • Working with young people and teachers to tackle classroom sexism through trainings, workshops and practical resources
  • Running campaigns with other organisations to directly drive change. They successfully campaigned for supermarkets to “Lose the Lads’ Mags”.

The grant awarded by Isla allowed UK Feminista to:

  • Produce six training guides,on topics such as how to set up a feminist group and run effective campaigns
  • Distribute guides to students through Freshers’ Packs and at regional training events including at universities
  • Produce four film guides
