EVAW works to build a fairer world by transforming the political and social systems enabling violence against women and girls (VAWG) through campaigning, policy work, and driving social change by challenging the wider cultural attitudes. They are a UK-wide coalition of 150+ members committed to addressing gendered violence through specialist frontline women’s support provisions and services as well as advocacy work.

With this  grant, they will be compiling and publishing their fourth annual Snapshot Report on the state of violence against women and girls. This work is a detailed look at the latest developments impacting VAWG in the UK, assessment of the government’s response and establishing what’s needed to end and prevent violence against women and girls. The report has quickly become established as a ‘go-to’ report for its unique compilation of research and data from across the VAWG sector alongside the government’s own. This is also an especially important iteration of their ‘Snapshot’ report, given this will be the last collection of these stats ahead of the upcoming general election.

By the end of the project they aim to:

  • Create new opportunities to influence politicians and policy makers
  • See the issues and asks raised in the report reflected back in political party commitments
  • See this work be referenced by and have shaped key stakeholders’ messaging and policy solutions
  • Contribute to the long-term tracking of progress and policy developments over time in order to hold those with power to account
  • Support our members and wider sector to  use the report for their own lobbying efforts
